The Farm Stand Opening will be open to the public from
3 pm – 6 pm on Tuesday, October 6th
Until renovations are complete on a donated modular building, FFF plans to host weekly farm stands for the community. Fresh Future Farm is focused on improving the environment by growing and selling organic produce and basic groceries in a food desert and accepting SNAP (food stamp benefits) as a sustainable way to improve community, create jobs and entrepreneurial opportunities and alleviate hunger for nutrient dense foods.
A full year after receiving a five-year lease and business zoning from the City of North Charleston, FFF has transformed a .81 acre empty lot into an active farm and is ready to accept SNAP (food stamp) benefits, cash and debit purchases for a variety of farm fresh produce including okra, eggplant, sweet and hot peppers, cherry tomatoes, herbs, pumpkins, and much more.
To ensure a wide variety of offerings, other area farms are donating produce to this effort including MUSC Urban Farm, Lowcountry Street Grocery, Sweetgrass Garden, Fields to Families’ OASIS outreach program and Sow Seasonal Farm.
FFF will also work with area food purveyors to sell fresh fruit.
