Fresh Future Farm grows healthy chemical free food (livestock coming soon!) and makes them available, along with basic grocery items at affordable prices.
We have intentionally located our operation in a food desert to meet pressing food needs and to generate job opportunities for our neighbors. Locally grown foods are playing a larger role in building the economy of the state, and people are choosing to purchase them and support their local farmers.
Fresh Future Farm leverages unused city assets to create food and job opportunities that will transform the current food desert into a more self-reliant and robust community. We stimulate social, economic and ecological environments through green farming and building practices, permaculture design, renewable energy and strategic partnerships to keep overhead costs low. With the best practices of profitable urban farms as its foundation, we will train city residents to successfully operate farms of their own.
Along with the farm and the store our next plans are to build and operate an incubator kitchen. The farm will also provide educational opportunities through farm tours, classes, demonstrations and other activities focusing on farm, nutrition and environmental stewardship concepts.
