Kennae Miller -- she/her
BOARD CHAIR
As a yoga instructor for Transformation Yoga, she enjoys sharing what she has learned on her journey to hold space and encourage others along their journey. Her goal now is to hold sacred and safe space for others to reconnect with their truth and live it daily on and off their yoga mat to transform their lives and thus the world around them. Kennae is a strong believer in connecting with nature through urban farming, community skills classes, and fun yoga experiences to relax each individual.

Steve Saltzman -- he/him

Steve became the Chief Executive Officer at the New Hampshire Community Loan Fund in April 2021. Previously, he was CEO of Charleston LDC, a nonprofit CDFI headquartered in Charleston, SC. Steve spent five years as an advisory board member for the Kresge Foundation FreshLo and is an expert panel member for America’s Healthy Food Finance Initiative. Before moving to Charleston, Steve committed 12 years to Self-Help Credit Union, where he created and led its food system finance sector and directed its Charter School Loan Fund.

Stacia Murphy -- she/her
MEMBER
Stacia Murphy is a Charleston native, Burke High grad, and one of Germaine's 'bad ass' advisors for years. After retiring from a much-applauded career as President of the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, she made her way back to the Lowcountry. Stacia made a beeline for Success Street after reading about our Chief Farm Officer's vision in a 2014 newspaper article. We are so blessed to have this powerhouse in our corner.

Chris Tittle -- he/him
MEMBER
Chris Tittle is a facilitator, organizer, and attorney focused on land and housing justice, participatory governance, and co-creating post-capitalist / post-white supremacist futures. He is Director of Land and Housing Justice at the Sustainable Economies Law Center. Chris organizes with grassroots coalitions including the South Carolina Housing Justice Network, Lowcountry Mutual Aid Fund, and Charleston Democratic Socialists of America (DSA). He also serves on the Board of Directors of the New Economy Coalition.

Cassandra Loftlin -- she/her
MEMBER
Cassandra is a test cook and host for America's Test Kitchen. Through extensive research and experimentation, she creates recipes and documents the development process, food science, and cultural/historical significance of her dishes. Through her travels, she learns more about the world and its many foods.
Cassandra is also a personal chef and nutrition educator.

Chad Carter -- he/him
MEMBER
Chad Carter is a Food Systems and Safety Associate with Clemson University Cooperative Extension Service. He assists small to medium-sized growers and processors with food safety, post-harvest handling, value-added processing, Good Agricultural and Good Manufacturing Practices, and hygienic facility design. Chad is passionate about helping South Carolina producers bring their products safely to market. Prior to completing his master’s in food science at Clemson, he had a career as a chef, working all over the country.

Alan Morton -- he/him

Alan D. Morton is a retired educator and former US Marine with 11 years of service. He taught in South Korea and Japan before retiring in 2020. Alan is passionate about educating children and holds degrees in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education. He is certified in South Carolina, Massachusetts, and DoDEA.
